personal and planetary health

Personal and planetary health are deeply interconnected. The same systems that shape our health; food, transport, housing, energy and the environment, are also driving climate change. This means that improving health and tackling climate change are not separate challenges, but part of the same agenda.

Cities sit at the centre of this relationship. They generate around 70% of global emissions, but also concentrate the people, infrastructure and ideas needed to drive change. Cities are where the risks are greatest, but also where solutions can be developed, tested and scaled.

By rethinking how we design and live in our urban environments, we have an opportunity to improve health, reduce inequality and build a more sustainable future – for people and the planet.
